[00:31.119] She wouldn't move. She froze in place.
[00:35.224] The only place she would run was on the edge of the ocean.

[00:58.196] her trainer Elizabeth decided to teach Lolabelle to paint.
[01:01.902] And so Lolabelle began making several paintings every day.
[01:06.027] Bright red abstract works.
[01:10.833] She would scratch on these plastic sheets, using static electricity.
[01:16.460] She also made small sculptures by pressing her paw into lumps of plasticine.
[01:23.715] She made a huge number of these things and I didn't really know what to do with them.
[01:27.873] So, I thought maybe they could be snack trays,
[01:30.877] or little clogs like the ones Japanese dogs might wear, in the rain.

[02:07.881] Lolabelle sat in the studio with me through lots of different record projects.(Hey!)
[02:13.593] Rat terriers have really good hearing,
[02:15.922] especially in the upper registers.(Hey!)

[02:20.953] "Hey, let's listen to that cello track for the 70th time."(Hey!) "
[02:24.687] Great idea, let's do that.(Hey!)
[02:33.907] Some trainers say that in order to understand your breed,
[02:36.940] you have to imagine what their voices would sound like,
[02:40.365] and what they'd say to you when you give them a command.
[02:43.196] So, give a command to a German Shepherd and he'd say
[02:46.425] 'Right Boss. No problem – consider it done."
[02:51.126] Give a command to a poodle,
[02:52.777] and it's "Please love me. I'll do anything if you just love me."
[02:57.850] But, give a command to a terrier and they say
[03:02.757] "Um, is it gonna be fun? Because, if it's not gonna be fun, I'm just not interested."
