[03:05.000] How you made a millionaire out of fifteen cent [03:07.677] When a dollar and a dream wasn't always what it seem [03:10.335] Sometime I couldn't see, but I still believed [03:12.919] And then you made it real, you gave me everything I need [03:15.574] And all I had to have was the faith of a mustard seed [03:19.000] So the point of this album is to have faith [03:21.600] No matter what field of work you in [03:23.649] No matter what you doin' in life, have faith in it and believe in it at all times [03:28.300] And especially having God in your life first [03:31.500] Because in a world full of the devil doing God knows what [03:34.511] Long as you keep God first, you'll be alright [03:38.000] I've always had the ultimate confidence [03:41.093] I've always believed in myself [03:43.829] And I always tried to be the best I could be [03:46.500] It was instilled in me as a kid [03:49.021] When I was making this album, man [03:51.600] I went through three different titles [03:53.600] And about a hundred different emotions [03:55.982] And I just remember a conversation I had with Neil when he was doing "Perfect Ten" [03:59.885] Said, "Man you should name your album, 'Faith of a Mustard Seed'" [04:02.480] At that very moment, I didn't know exactly what he meant by it [04:05.600] But I knew it was something out the Bible [04:07.885] When I went and I did my research on what "Faith of a Mustard Seed" meant [04:12.600] It says that with the faith of a mustard seed, God will allow you to move mountains [04:17.700] And I feel like where I come from, I moved just about every mountain that was in my way [04:22.500] And still movin' em with the faith of God [04:26.215] You know, when I was young, you know, when I say, "First giving honor to God" [04:29.219] To Ms. Carol who had first brought me and my moms [04:31.268] You know that was, like, that's a real thing [04:33.067] You know, I moved from the jungles to West LA [04:35.700] And I met this lady named Carol, her son was a drummer at the church [04:38.405] And I remember one day I seen her going to church, she was like, "You wanna go to church with me?" And I'm like "Yeah," and I went [04:43.432] You know I really went 'cause I really wanted to be the drummer [04:45.425] But Jermaine was always the drummer, so I never became the drummer, or whatever [04:48.879] But I, um, I went, and I became a member of Believers Community Baptist Church [04:54.569] And after I went a few times and I became a real member of the church, I got baptized [04:59.200] And I think after that, I told my mom, well I, guess, my mom was at the baptize ceremony [05:03.700] But I asked my mom, "Mom, you wanna go to church?" [05:06.481] And she was like, "Yeah, I'll go" (Yeah, I'll go) [05:08.500] And my mom never stopped going to church, even when I stopped [05:11.700] You know? So I guess that was like a sign from God [05:15.500] And it also brought me and my mom closer [05:17.850] You know, she lived by [05:18.859] Alright, you know I'm prayin' for you (You know I'm praying for you always) [05:21.000] And I don't know, you know, my mom probably gon' be mad at me [05:23.032] But she used to be real bad at, like, cussin' us out, me and my sisters [05:25.767] Just start, like, cussin' like, "Get your ass in the house," you know, that type of thing (Get your ass in the house) [05:28.904] But uh, you know, once she, once she, she went to church, it kind of like changed her for the better [05:35.446] You know, and it, uh, softened her up a lil' bit [05:38.048] And I never told her that, but, uh [05:40.500] I think that was the best thing that ever happened to me and her [05:43.658] You know, 'cause it was me and her, my sister moved to Atlanta with her husband and stuff [05:46.953] And had her own family [05:47.900] Recently just moved 'em back here to be closer to us, but [05:51.000] You know, um [05:53.400] Not to make it about that, but [05:55.376] For the most part, man, I just want everybody out there, you know [05:58.153] You've been watchin' me this whole time [06:00.162] Studyin' my career and you watchin' my whole journey [06:03.800] You've seen me grow, you've seen who I am, you've seen who I've become [06:07.064] You've seen how I'm into my kids 'cause I didn't have a father, I had my uncle, but he taught me how to be a father [06:12.200] And, uh, I always admired that about him, that he took me in like I was his son that he never had 'cause he only got daughters [06:18.100] But, um, it made me be the best father that I could be and know that, you know [06:23.673] Not to never take that for granted 'cause all you got is time and you can't get time back [06:28.850] Um, but to the fans, you know, the little kids, the little producers in the hood that look at me and look at it like it's too far [06:37.622] It's really not, I came exactly from where you come from [06:40.750] And anything is possible with the faith [06:44.100] And hard work gon' always beat talent, every time [06:48.730] So I want you to understand, you know [06:50.677] You can do anything you put your mind to [06:52.682] "Faith of a Mustard Seed" is a, is a testimony of me, just, you know, growing and bein' [06:57.138] Who I knew I always could be and who I was gon' always strive to be [07:00.126] No matter what, nobody could've gotten in the way of me being who I am [07:03.700] And to show you that nobody can get in the way of you [07:06.700] Until next time [07:09.900] And, oh, yeah [07:11.080] If you ever in doubt of what I'm thinking about you, just know I'm praying for you [07:15.700] So you should pray for me too
